General Definition of Work Join our team as a Social Media and Marketing Specialist, responsible for managing the City's social and digital media endeavors.
As part of this role, you'll engage in graphic design, content development, and other related tasks under the supervision of the Communications Director.
This is a full-time position with work hours from 7:
30 a.
m.
to 4:
30 p.
m.
, Monday through Friday, allowing for a one-hour lunch break.

Essential Functions Follows branding guidelines when creating material to ensure brand integrity and project quality Assists marketing of the City of Westfield, Westfield Welcome, Westfield Fire Department, Westfield Police Department and Grand Park initiatives as needed Assists in maintaining accurate information on the City of Westfield website Assists Branding and Creative Lead with projects including social media graphics, newsletter design, logo creation, brochures, infographics and signage Collaborate with all city departments to create a cohesive content calendar Performs other duties as assigned Knowledge, Skills and Abilities A portfolio (website or PDF) is required to apply Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat) on a PC platform.
Adaptable to evolving visual design trends and technologies.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Photography/Videography skills a plus, but not required Web Design, UX, or UI skills a plus, but not required Good interpersonal skills, ability to collaborate in a team setting Capacity for multi-tasking and managing several projects Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Directly managed by Communications Director Education and Experience A Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Media Arts, Visual Communications Design, Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required.
Proven experience in these areas are preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience will also be considered.
Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force; work regularly requires sitting, speaking or hearing and repetitive motions, frequently requires standing and occasionally requires walking, using hands to finger, handle or feel and reaching with hands and arms; work has standard vision requirements; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires preparing and analyzing written or computer data and operating motor vehicles or equipment; work has no exposure to environmental conditions; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.
